Can someone PLEASE tell me why the Arizona Spur in Newry Closed!
Have they re-located or is this the end of another good restaurant.

Not the place to go if you are in anyway serious about your food as this place can be very slight hit and major miss. The staff are on the whole charming to customers but I have seen them rude to each other on many occasion which puts me off. Food orders are not written down and hence get forgotten, I had to get up and get my own drink form the bar twice , It’s very annoying when you can see your drink just sitting there but the staff don’t!

My family and I are South African and we live in Omeath-across the border and we pop in every so often as we feel ‘at home’ when in the Spur -doesn’t matter which or where..its a great attachment in our lives and we just love the great service and the warm chats at every occassion. We recommend it to all and we bring all our visitors from Dublin,Tullamore,South Africa and even from Uk to feel the atmosphere..Support it…

Thank you for a wonderful evening.
The venue is smart and relaxing, the staff professional as well as friendly and interactive.
The food just as I remember from home!
A lovely evening (Saturday) with my wife and daughters, that didnt break the bank.
Will definately be returning soon.

Food was not good, staff were all a bit lazy and service was poor. Dined with my wife and 3 yr old daughter. People beside us didst get all their food and one person had to go hungry while the rest of them ate. Replacement meal offered, but by then it was too late.
Also a free goodie pack is included with all kids meals, when we didn’t get one I asked and was told they would bring one down. Didn’t arrive, then after the meal when another waitress was clearing the table she mentioned that they have been out of the kiddies goodie packs for weeks
Shame as the location and decor are great and it seems quite clean and well kept.
Was hoping for better..

I personally think this is the best restaurant in Newry i love the service there is always someone there to take your order staff are very nice polite the food is 5 star but i you be prepared to pay for what you eat its a great place to bring your family the play room is good for the kids and the place is in great condition not messy or dirty. I would recommend it to everyone who stops by the shoping centre

Regular stop for me & my family on the way back from Dublin trips (as was Springsteens before it) - the games room is a great idea for keeping the kids amused while waiting for the food to arrive, and the menu’s extensive enough that there’s something for everyone no matter what mood they’re in.
The food is decent, if not anything special, but that’s made up for by frankly huge portions - it’s often a real battle to finish what’s on the plate. Service can be slow during busy periods and the restaurant can be a little on the cold side, but other than that I’ve got no complaints.

As a local i enjoy going to arizona spur. I have to agree that parking is a nightmare, however the hunting for a space is worth it. Although i feel that i will be going less now as the shopping centre have started to charge for their car parking facilities. The food is reasonaby priced and students get a discount with a valid card. I liked the way when you walk in you are almost assigned a waiter/waitress who takes your order, serves you your food and anything other. The environment was very clean and well looked after, the decoratins on the walls etc were brilliant to lok at and gave the restuarant a feel of authentisity. I would recommend arizona spur as a great place to eat.

The only reason that I am giving it a 3/5 because the staff / service was very good and the kids liked the play area.
The food isn’t particularly good and the desserts (bannoffee) was a joke - the smallest i’ve ever seen!! The kids eat free on a friday and you get free refills with the soft drinks.
We will go again but really just because the kids love it and we don’t have to fight with them to sit still!

Okay so it is better than Springteens that proceded it yet again I hate these themed franchised resturants that do not offer anything like the proper taste of food that they try to theme…. Burgers are average at best, drinks very overpriced. Service is good venue is huge and you should never get a problem getting in here except at Xmas on a Saturday @ lunch when half of Ireland comes to town… One good point is that it is child freindly and has a play area (cctv’d for you to supervise the little beggers) at the back. Be awere though that the focus here is to sell sell sell you that desert, extra drink etc… Not a homely place really but not too bad. Pity you’ll not be able to park the car anywhere near it during the Xmas time… But sure….

The service and food was pretty good, my non-vegetarian friend loved it. The side dishes (fries, coleslaw, salad) were quite big and the milkshakes were extremely nice (though £3.50). There was only 1 choice for a vegetarian (expected in a restaurant like this).
Wasn’t too expensive either. The total came to £33 and that included:
- 10oz rib eye steak (with fries/salad - came with a free steak knife?)
- Black bean veggie burger (with fries/salad)
- Side of coleslaw (which could feed 4 people, easily)
- 2x beautiful milkshakes
