We bought oil late last year from a competitor and it lasted us 3 months. We then bought oil from Bangor Fuels, the same money, the same volume (or so i thought) and our heating was on less than it had been previously. yet it only lasted us 6 weeks. The company are extremely hard to get a hold of, the delivery date was all wrong and they were rude on the phone. Possibly one of the worst companies I’ve had to deal with in my life.
I am a new coustmer , my mum she is moving into her new house in bangor on Tuesday 18th February, got the keys a few days before she moved, tried to put the heating on but wouldn’t work checked the oil tank it was empty. Rang bangor fules on friday and explained to the girl the situation, she was extremely helpful and said she would get me a delivery that day .I no nothing about oil heating systems , so she said to ask the dilivery man ti fire it up for me , and if there was any more problems to give them a call . The system would not fire up and give them a call they sent a plumber round that day . Unfortunately the boiler was so old and rusty it was it a not able to be repaired the plumber Gareth tried everything . I explained to him my mother is 79 years old and couldent move into a house on tuesday without heat , iasked him could he get a new boiler fitted for me befor she moved in he said he would , its monday 17th feb mums new boiler is up and running, cant belive it , it rained all day and Gareth worked all day to fit and get every thing up and running. Thanks bangor fules and there plumer Gareth .

have used Bangor oil a number of times now and have found the staff to be competent, delivery on the day stated and always polite, and anytime I have had a problem i.e. not going to be there when delivered as long as I have left access its fine with them, so yes I could recommend them and have done to others.
terrible terrible phone manner from the woman i phoned - really abrupt and talks to you as if you are wasting her time ordering oil! then cuts you off to put phone down!! i remembered as soon as i phoned why i had declined to order the last time they were the cheapest on the list. bangor fuels would do their business a favour if they monitored their customer service telephone calls. that’s twice now they have lost my custom in a year and looking at this website, i’m not the only one to take my hard earned money elsewhere- i’d rather pay a little bit more than give them the business. stay clear!!!
Rang on Friday (the big snow day) to check price with Bangor Fuels as it was £10 dearer than most other suppliers. Was told that they couldn’t price match, which is fair enough - their choice, but that they would deliver next day.
Rang back 30 minutes later to place my order, and got a female this time, whose attitude was that they were doing me a favour in processing my order. Was also informed that they could no longer deliver next day as they were overbooked, which meant it now wouldn’t be delivered until Monday. So much for “We are the company you can always rely on. Come rain , hail or snow, we will do everything it takes to deliver your order on time, every time” - calling Trading Standards!
Having ordered my oil from Bangor Fuels consistently for the last 2 years, I have placed my last order with them. Surely the one thing a sales assistant should have as a basic is polite attitude.

Rang to order this week as I had run completely out. Their telephone manner is absolutely ridiculous, you are made to feel as if you are a nuisance. I rang first thing in the morning and explained that I desperately needed oil and as they guaranteed same day delivery thought I would receive that day. I was worried that there was now an airlock in the system. They said they could only gaurantee delivery before 12 but as I work I wouldnt be back until 3. They couldnt do it they said. Well, I can GUARANTEE one thing Bangor Fuels….I will be using BALLYNAHINCH FUELS in future, They arrived in the afternoon, were cheaper than BF and the lovely oil man even bled the air out of the boiler.

I ordered oil from Bangor fuels as it was cheaper than my usual supplier. However after it was delivered I measured the increased amount in my tank and it was significantly less than the usual.
I cannot prove that they undersupplied or how but I will never order from them again!

Delivered before 11am.
I have been getting oil from Bangor Fuels for some years now and find that the service is excellent.
At one time the delivery lorry did not have as much oil as I had ordered and paid for, but the guy called the next day as promised and deelivered the remainder. I am very satisfied with Bangor Fuels on all fronts.
I always order from Bangor Fuels. Only company even delivered oil on certain days over the winter. Never bother looking elsewhere any more.
I have lived in the Bangor area for 11 years now and have always ordered oil and gas from Bangor fuels.
A work colleague told me about Boiler Juice and out of curiosity checked and they appeared to be about a tenner cheaper, phoned Bangor Fuels to see if they would match, only to be told in no uncertain terms that they won’t. Seems like they are doing you a real favour selling you oil.
Looks like it will be Boilerjuice in future…..
Ordered oil online this morning, having previously used Bangor Fuels. Specified that the driver would require a ladder when ordering. Got a phonecall from a lady a few hours later who explained (in a narky manner) that the driver had no ladder and the delivery would be made the next day.
Got a second phonecall from a guy who told me again that the driver didn’t have a ladder and wouldn’t be able to deliver. I explained that i’d already been told this and his only solution to the problem was to refund me since it’s not cost effective to send an oil lorry with a ladder to my house.
Now I have no oil and it’ll be another while until I get a delivery. Thanks Bangor Fuels.
Oil Delivered promptly as it was an emergency. Xmas and a boiler renewal - what a disaster. Rang around and settled on Bangor Fuels.Subsequently our radiators and Aga are not warm like before. We have a massive hot water tank to cope with the hot water our Aga makes but, after one quick kids shower, our water is cold. The water from the taps is usually scalding after five seconds but now we can hold our hands under the tap forever. Previously our oil had come from Kingsberry Fuels, but they were going to be two days after Bangor fuels for delivery. I have serviced the Aga and had a qualified plumber installing the new ’ very expensive good quality boiler’ so I am left with the thought that the oil quality from Bangor Fuels may be of a lesser standard than other oil companies/brand. Is there a difference in home heating oil quality, a little like petrol. Comments welcomed….....
I ordered oil from Bangor Fuels on 31 January 2011 for the first time because their price was very competitive. The oil was delivered to me in Glengormley on the 1 February 2011 in the morning.
Could not ask for better service than that.
this company should be ashamed of themselves, during the summer they are always competitive with pricing, normally £3-4 cheaper for 900 litres, but this last month they have been £60 -70 more expensive than all the other companies!!! i ordered 2 weeks before christmas and they told me that i would be delivered to the next few days, 1 week later it still hadnt arrived and i was told by a very rude guy that i should have ordered it earlier!! even though they always advertise same day delivery( is this a breech of advertising laws??) when it finally arrived the driver was totally inexperienced and seemed to have no proper training whatsoever, there was a trail of oil from my tank to his truck, i am even doubting that i got the amount i had ordered.. and when asked about it he said it wasnt his problem as he wasnt even getting paid for working after hours!!! i am disgusted by the way i have been treated, i will never ever buy from them again, the few pounds i saved in the summer is nothing compared to the amount i have been ripped off on my last fill. stay clear at all costs
I will not be using this company again.They do not look after their existing customers and will not under any circumstances try to be helpful.We were more or less told to like it or lump it so we have found another local company whose customer service is first class..Good riddance Bangor Fools!!!!!
I always find them just a bit cheaper than Maxol Direct, and oil gets to you quicker too, usually the next day.
I am furious with this company, I ordered oil on wednesday , paid by card, I was told they could not deliver to my address until Friday (Good Friday)ok I could stick the cold until then.
Today, Friday , I called them @ 3pm gave my name and address and was told the delivery would be with me shortly, as the driver was in kircubbin, 10 mins away.
At 4:50 I called as it was getting late, gave my address etc again, I could hear the young lady ask the office, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes, and was then told the delivery date was for Saturday.
How could this be, I was told on Wednesday it would be delivered on Friday, I was told today that it was on its way. Iwas told it would be delivered Saturday, I was told I was shouting and was not going to get anywhere , I was angry, then I was told that as I would not be in Saturday it would not be delivered until Wednesday next week as it was the holidays, I was put through to someone who said they were the manager, who was rude, when i said I have visitors coming on Sunday and kids in the house he told me to go out and buy 20l drums until wed, or tilt the tank on bricks, he did not apologise, told me no way were they going to get oil to me today or anytime until wednesday, I assume the driver forgot or just couldn’t be bothered to drive to my address, but this is the worst service I have ever had from a company here in Northern Ireland.
before I have not had any bother and had oil delivered on time, this time however I got the feeling I was not valued as a customer, no one apologised, they were rude and I was told “Do you want the oil or not!? ”
Even with the money put back on my card it would take time as it is now holidays. I will never use this company again, I am thinking they have new management or something, but the way I was treated was a disgrace
i have regularly ordered oil from them and now all of the sudden they are refusing to deliver to my address because last time their lorry got stuck on my lane. However before telling me this they took my payment and only rang me later. As it’ll take at least 5 working days for the refund to reach my account (and let’s hope i’ll get a refund!) i cannot order oil from anywhere else in the meanwhile. It would not bother me too much if they had told me when i ordered or even after the last order when they must have realised their current drivers would be unable to reverse the lorry down the lane. Now i have to be without heating or hot water until i get my money back. they were very rude over the phone, no apologies nothing. I do not get it how they managed to deliver the oil for over year and a half without anyproblems and now this. needless to say i wont be ordering from them again!

Always a quick turn around. Friendly telephone and delivery service and the prices are always very competitive.
Its the first oil delivery service I turn to. I have rarely had to go elsewhere.
I ordered 500 litres on 4/12/09 and delivery was due that day . When no docket arrived I contacted the company after several calls they confirmed that delivery had in fact been made and that the docket had been stuck to the oil tank. As this docket was no where to be found I asked that someone call with a replacement invoice . This was done by a driver this time calling at the front door and confirming that this was the house he had delivered the oil to.
After two weeks I have no oil and I have a new baby in the house -I suspect no delivery was made to our address. We have had oil delivered before to our address when in fact it was for another customer. Despite contacting this company they still insist that the oil was delivered. I have spoken to the PSNI and they have stated they have not recd any reports of oil theft from this area in over a year.
I believe the company should have delivered the original delivery docket correctly in the first place and that when told of the possible mistake should have checked the oil tank to confirm amount delivered this was not done.Very disappointed with the response from this company.
I’ve always been happy with the service and prices from Bangor Fuels, but this week, they pulled me out of a hole with a delivery of heating oil within 90 minutes of making the call!
Always courteous, both on the telephone and in person, their staff are exemplars of customer service.
Can’t recommend highly enough :)
