Staff as friendly as they come, a great mix of punters, great atmosphere, great pints. Nuff said.

Good for a few drinks in the summer, so u can sit and have a chat outside, not some where I’d sit inside it’s a bit cramped.

Have had some great days and nights here. Gets very stuffy inside though and the toilets are pretty pathetic. Good craic all the same, usually end up outside a lot of the night however and Guinness in a plastic glass is just wrong.
Should give it 5 stars as it’s still one of my preferred bars in Belfast, but 4 stars it is.

Always good for a pint after Uni or to take a tutorial session into a more relaxed environment!
Staff are always quick to serve and the Guinness is good.

Moving my rating up a notch. Always good for after work or post University talk pints. Staff always ready to serve quickly.
Wish they would get some wifi on the go though - no phone reception in here so can never tell friends where I am.

Decent bar in the cathedral quarter area of belfast, was there with the #talkingtype folk for an after talk beerup (wednesday night).
Inside can get very warm if busy so i would recommend either sitting down or taking your drinks outside and socialise.
Good atmosphere.

Love the duke of york! Great atmosphere, great crowd (and the plastic glass thing doesn’t bother me in the slightest!)

Nice bar with the handiest outdoor smoking/sitting area in Belfast - it’s own cobbled street!
Always have a lot of bar staff on, so I never have to wait too long to be served. Fair selection of whiskey.
After about 8pm they do make you transfer your drink to a plastic cup if you are going outside - not that there’s a rough crowd, I just think it’s too much trouble clearing broken glass from the cobbles. Unfortunate: as mentioned in another comment, it spoils things slightly.

Nice bar although went here for a drink Friday night (upstairs) to watch a guy perform on the guitar and they gave us our drinks (Guinness and wine) in plastic cups. Can understand this in a club but didn’t expect it from the Duke of York bar. Not a fan of plastic cups, when I go to a pub I want a good pint glass (or wine glass) :(
