As a venue, the Empire not only is a fantastic and beautiful location but it also attracts a fantastic eclectic and diverse range of artists. The staff are friendly and the atmospehre is always good. However, I was shocked at the prices at the bar when I attended a gig on Saturday night, hence not awarding the full five stars.

Have never had a bad experience with the Empire, great comedy nights, great tribute bands and brilliant up and coming bands!

I won’t rave madly about anywhere, but if you want a good pint, want to hear good bands or watch the match, i would say go here. I make this my regular spot since I live close but would happily cross town before wasting my time in so-called trendy bars. Straightforward, unpretentious and if only the staff in lots more pubs in Belfast were as welcoming.

Absolutely brilliant for value for money 5er feeds you and gets you your first drink , entertainment offered is top notch too especially comedy nights on tuesdays

Thursday and Sunday night there really isn’t a better place to be. The NI tourist board should list these nights as an area of outstanding natural beauty, the music that goes on below is phenomonal. Some of the heavies in the session side of music in this land. Rum Staff great, decor is the best in belfast.

I’ve been goin here for ages, great bar and music up and downstairs. £2 a pint 3-7. What happened to the blonde polish girl that worked downstairs?

I wrote two bad reviews today, so I want to top out with a good one. The Empire Music Hall is simply one of the best places for small “intimate” gigs. The sound is great, the ambiance is excellent for small gigs, and the place is always packed with a good crowd. Well worth a visit.

Good for a pint & really handy to Botanic train station. Tuesday comedy night is top notch too.

Great bar always have a good night or day in the place, can always be guaranteed a good night with the live music. Was there for Paddys night and had a good U2 tribute act on

Went to see the fabulous band there last weekend. 80s-tastic. Had a ball and the crowd and atmosphere was great. Paid £7 in and the drink wasnt cheap but the band was great and staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Left with a smile. Will definitely be returning, recommend to y’all.

For years I’ve visited the Empire, and loved it, Nights out are great and it’s an excellent place for gigs.
However.. ( and there’s always a however, eh? ) ..I had lunch in here the other week, and I was sorely disappointed. We had to sit as flies buzzed around us, the meal was completely lacklustre, and cost far too much for simple pub-grub.
Friends pizza looked, and apparently was very good, however I doubt I’ll be back for food any time soon, so I’ll not be finding out first hand.

I can honestly say that I have never had a bad night in the Empire! It gets a great mix of people and one of the few bars in Belfast where you can see good live bands every weekend.

Great all-rounder!!! Nice wee bar downstairs for a quiet drink or some lunch during the day. A relaxed yet entertaining venue upstairs for the evening. Comedy nights (Tuesdays) are always packed, and a really good night out for all! Get there early! :)
Went to see Hot Fuss (Killers tribute band) a few months ago and will be going to see them again in march - The Empire gets some great acts on their stage!

I’m a big fan of this bar. Thursday nights hosts Rab McCollough, a great blues artist. It also hosts great artists in the upstairs bar through out the year.

One of the best place for music in belfast, seen nizlopi last year to name but a few and am going to see kings of lyon in Jan.

Gave the Empire a try for the first time on Friday night and was pleasantly surprised. Live band up stairs was mighty, loads of classic tunes, rockin away.
Decent access to the bar, didn’t have to wait long for drinks.
Bit of a maturer crowd than the usual Belfast venues, which was a nice change.

The weekly comedy nights at The Empire are excellent. Some new and some really well known comedians including Colin Murphy from the Blame Game.
