Back again with a work colleague this time.
Service great even though the place was busy.
Starters, Fish Chowder and Chicken strips, both excellent
Main Courses, Thai Green Curry, and Salmon & Haddock special
Flavours outstanding, portions good and well presented
Price as always very reasonable, Meals & Drinks £40
Great stuff Guys Keep it up
a friend said he had a great meal there so had to try it. Booked a table at short notice on a friday night. Greeted immediately on arrival, shown to table and offered menu and drink.. relaxed and ordered starters and meals.
Starter of breads and Oils. four different breads all excellent and warmed. three choices of balsamic vinegar reduction, pesto sauce with sundried tomato etc, and a mint dip. Flavours incredible and could have sat there all night dipping and snacking.
Main course of Porkbelly and chilli barbeque sauce with sticky rice and veg. I have eaten a similar meal in many places but never have I enjoyed such flavour and beautiful presentation. PLUS a decent sized portion !!!
my wife had a steak with onions mushroom and pepper sauce and chunky chips. again well presented and large portion. I of course pinched a chip and tried the sauce, lovely.
couldnt face a sweet as we were both stuffed so had a pot of tea.
* three courses plus drink for two people - £35 incredible value *
Staff very friendly and helpful, service excellent and they were very busy at the time. absolutely loved and will definitely be back
ref the previous comment I had the same table and there was no problem, the speakers are muted and being near the staff point speeds the service .
Would I recommend it? VERY definitely YES
**** Do not go here ****
I arrived for a sunday lunch 12.15pm although not having a table booked the restaturant was quiet. 2 tables were being used. I was with my Wife, daughter (3yrs) and baby son 6 months old. He was sleeping in his seat. When we arrived we were greeted by i presume the manager judging by his shirt and tie. He did not seem too pleased to see us to be honest and when we asked for a table he consulted his folder and huffed and puffed and placed us at a table that wasnt even set and if we have been any closer to a the till we would have been in it. To make matters worse we were in a corner with a speaker right above our heads, i asked the manager if we could move to another table to which i presumed would not be an issue as the restaurant was empty. But he started argueing with me telling me that there are speakers everywhere! i was dumbstruck that a Manager could act like this. Needless to say we left right away and to make make my blood boil i got a cheeky and sarcky ‘Cheers’ on our way out the door. In my 31 years i have never been treated like this in a restaurant. Im not sure whether it was the fact we had kids with us? if that was the case i would go to a solicitor. But please do not go here!
Nice steak, big portions and very tasty. Far too busy and rushed, though, for a relaxed Saturday evening.
called in for lunch, in middle of week, food was great and portions lets say, you wont go hungry. service was good and staff polite. free kids meals at time was agood offer.Well worth a visit.
will be back :)
went on friday night very busy but our meal was superb and service very good
Nicely decorated inside restaurant and bar, with friendly and accomodating staff throughout the day.
Quite a good menu both for adults and children and well known within the community as its beside the sea with a beer garden out front aswell.
Nothing particularly out of the ordinary, but the food is good, the portions are massive (possibly to their detriment as we were unable to fit in a pudding), the prices keen, the views great, the staff friendly and they know how to deal with small kids (meal out with adult starters, crayons as soon as you sit down).
Worth noting they have a family offer from Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 7pm where you can get up to two kids’ meals free when buying adult meals. Could easily have a family of four eating out for around £25.
Perfect for a Saturday lunch. I have, in the past, also enjoyed their pub quiz.
An excellent venue for food and drink at any time of the week. Live music on a couple of evenings in the week and other themed entertainment throughout the year.
Cater well for kids as well and will serve their food with the adults starters as well as providing colouring in and high chairs.
The menu is superb, really varied and full of tasty treats. Staff are really friendly the open fires are lovely on a chilly Sunday afternoon with the papers.
Great views over Belfast Lough and a kids park about 500 yards up the road to walk off that pudding!
