Odyssey Cinemas reviews (27)

Odyssey/storm cinemas had previously been my favoured cinema experience in Belfast, however I feel that the establishment has taken a bit of a nose dive since my last review.
The late night showings have now all been cut, which suited me to a tee as I could easily have time to go home after work, get dressed and go for a meal before attending the cinema.
The screens themselves have deteriorated. I find that the right side of the projected image appears blurred in comparison to the left. I have noticed this in both the VIP and standard screens.
The food and drink thankfully remain the same and the nachos are still delicious.
I hope that under the new management this cinema will improve and become my favoured cinemas experience in Belfast once again.

The small cinema screens are too small but apart from that, it does exactly what it says on the tin! Best thing is that it is easy and has restaurants and bars next door. Kids club at the weekend top for families but can be very busy.

Been here a few times now but avoid visiting when possible - if a film is showing in one of the other cinemas nearby. The theaters and toilet facilities are very dirty and you can hear the noise from other screens quite clearly.

Odyssey VIP screens are the only way to watch films in NI. Reclining leather chairs, free coke/popcorn refills, free tea/coffee beforehand and not having someone consistently natter or kick the back of your chair the whole time all make the higher cost worth it.

I now only go to the Odyssey Cinema when I want to see a film. The only bad thing I can say about it is that I think the price for a ticket is too expensive. Thankgod for Cheap Tuesdays! And the seats are comfy too.

Just trying out the VIP screens. Fantastic, very comfy, access to directors lounge+ free refills on popcorn + drinks. Great value for £10.

Decent cinema, with a great VIP option. Only problem is that it doesn’t have the Orange Wednesday’s promotion, which is a bit disappointing.
Great popcorn too!

Love the VIP cinema here wel worth the extra few quid seats real comfy and got the double seats tonight pretty good for couples also great coffee, there was nobody in to make coffee but I just mentioned to girl collecting tickets and within 10 secs she was in and had started makin coffee for us. Popcorn is also great although tonight wasn’t enough sugar coating for me, would have got five stars had popcorn been usual standard

Im a regular here with the wee ones for the kids club, well for £1 it would be rude not too.

Went there to see the premier of Iron Man 2. Sat idle in the cinema for 15minutes before the manager came in to tell us that the movie has been postponed until a later time because the digital projector was not working. You can guess we were pretty peeved. However the staff were really apologetic towards us and refunded us the money we paid and gave us a free viewing of the show along with free coffee in the VIP area. Would have got 5 out of 5 if they were prepared for the minor incident that occurred.

I’m in love with the VIP screens, kick your shoes off, recline your chair and enjoy the show. I found the staff MORE than helpful and friendly and will definitely make the 60 mile trip again for that special treat.

Definitely better cinemas around. Also the odyessy is full of scum should you choose to go to a late show on a fri or sat night. Overpriced tickets and food plus you have to pay for parking making a night at cinema a costly experience. Screens are better at dundonald

Great value on wekend mornings for only £1. Also Tuesday when all films including 3D are only £2.50

I usually like this cinema for the stadium seating, big screens and fantastic sound (I’m looking at you, Odeon).
Unfortunately, I was there on tuesday with a group of 5 who couldn’t find any free seats as it was too dark (the trailers were still running). After walking back to the foyer to ask for someone with a torch we were told there are two members of staff already in there. Turns out they WERE in there, but just stood and watched us looking for seats and didn’t bother offering to help.
My advice, turn up early, and bring your own snacks.

The last place in Belfast where you can get *real* homemade popcorn. Nearly worth the 4 stars alone.
Great screen quality, good staff and while expensive does have a great sweet selection

Go here most weekends for the kids club only £1. Seating is good so is all the food love salted popcorn. Would love to go to the vip seats sometime.

One of our favourite treats is to book a film in the VIP section of Storm. Feels like you’re there on your own as your 2 leather recliners are sectioned off from the people beside, above and below you. And it’s damn comfy. I tell everyone about the VIP seats at Storm. If you haven’t done it do it now.

Love the VIP screens. Such a comfort for only a few pounds extra. If im going to watch a film I have anticipated for a long time I always go VIP and havent been disappointed so far!

Seating is good in the normal screens, with plenty of leg room. The VIP screens are a step above, with reclining lazy boys. There’s also free tea, coffee and hot chocolate on offer if you go to the VIP suite (the coffee bar is on the right overlooking the entrance to the odyssey).
Only downside is that the food/drink are a bit more expensive than other cinemas.

I really like this cinema, been using it since it before it was Storm. The seats are really comfy and you can easily see over the people in front, its like seats in an arena, not on a slope like most other cinemas. Pretty competitive prices and most of the staff are pretty friendly though I got served last week by this one scottish girl who’s attitude made it totally clear that she didn’t want to be there in the slightest which really bugged me, she totally ruined my storm visit.

The vip chairs rock my sox off, but nt sure how popular they are at around £20 a go!

This my first time at Storm cinemas and they have gained a new customer. The staff were very friendly and the seats were comfortable. They told me about their Vip experience which i am looking forward to trying out next time i go. I am also a student and at 2.50 a ticket this is a bargain.
21/06/09
The staff were not friendly at all, they were to busy talking to each other. I should not have bothered buying a ticket as there was no one to take it. I could have gone into any auditoria at all. There was chocolate over my seat, which i did not see as it was pitch black in the screen, and i got it all over my trousers. One word for this cinema TERIBBLE!!!
21/03/09
The VIP cinema is what makes this cinema better than the rest. Comfy seats that recline, plenty of space, perfect size of screen and best of all, people who are there to enjoy a film and not mess about or talk on their phones.
The nachos are my fav out of all the Belfast cinemas as well.
If you’ve never been to the VIP, now is the time to try, you won’t be able to go to “normal” cinema again!
21/02/09
The seats are comfortable and provide a great viewing angle of the screens which are sharp and blemish free. VIP is great for getting away from all the noise and the nachos with cheese sauce go down a treat. Tuesday is a bargain at £2.50 a ticket.
