Excellent choice of films. Haven’t been in years but decided to go watch a Japanese film, Confessions. Brilliant film which was only let down by the seating and sound in the QFT.
It had been recommended to watch this film in a cinema because the soundtrack works so well with the film but it appears that it would have been better watched on a home cinema system. (That sounds a bit harsh, but it did let the film down a little). With regards to the seats, they are horrendous to sit in for any length of time, again another reason to be sitting at home on the sofa with a decent sound system.
Would go back in a heart beat if these issue were resolved. The sound could be but due to the size of the actual cinema, sadly the seating will never get any better.

This has got to be my favourite cinema. The choice of world films that are shown here are always excellent and often won’t be found in any of the other mainstream theatres. Sometimes the wait for a film to be shown can be a little long as the Europa cinemas chain that distribute these have a limited number. Also the reel can at times have some dust on it by the time it reaches the QFT. To counter this though one of the screens is now equipped with irelands first digital projector, if you haven’t seen a movie shown on one yet it’s like going from VHS to DVD for the first time! Great cinema, great range of movies and great atmosphere for movie lovers.

After reading the reviews on here I expected better on my recent visit. I do have to admit it is good for a classic film but it is hardly up there with the other cinemas in terms of quality of pic and sound.

Best cinema for miles around - especially since the refurb a few years ago. I love the atmosphere and the selection of movies and the fact you can have a beer just before in the cafe/bar - makes you feel like you are anywhere else but Belfast.

QFT is highly recommended to go and watch a classic film. Whilst modern and very plush since they refurbed it still feels like going to a real cinema rather than a a modern multiplex in a shopping mall (naming no names). QFT is a treat.

The QFT is the best bit about living in South Belfast — it rocks! It actually screens quality films that wouldn’t make it into the ‘big’ screens. I can’t fault it.

The QFT is great for independent and world cinema and is the only cinema in Belfast that shows many of the films I’m interested in. The bar is nice, however it’s an irritation that I can’t bring my drink into the cinema.
The cinema itself is poor. The screen is usually obscured at the bottom by the person sitting in front of you. This is especially aggravating when watching a movie with subtitles.
The confined layout of the cinema results in a less intimate experience with the film. The expected joys of watching a film in peace and quite are soon replaced with the inconvenience of rubbing legs with your neighbours, due to the cramped seating arrangements.
The screen quality is fine, but nothing to shout about.

Get there early, have a wee drink, chill, relax in the best seats in a cinema anywhere.
Intimate, quiet, clean, did I say grown-up?
A place for anyone who wants to enjoy the film and esccape the hordes.

QFT is easily the best cinema in Belfast.
A film addicts paradise. Watch the film in peace and quiet and enjoy a relaxing drink in the bar.
Staff are always friendly and helpful and very efficient.

Intimate, amazing screen quality (far better than Odeon and Movie House) Bar.
Plus you can book dates to watch any film with all your mates from their massive back catalogue.

SImply the best cinema in town. Bar, good conversation and great films. Showings feel a lot more intimate due to the smaller rooms.

I love this place, not only does it show films that aren’t in the main stream cinemas it also shows classic movies from the past (also has a bar).
