Went to Tony’s to celebrate mum’s 50th. Absolutely fantastic.

I’m not much of a ribs fan but Tony’s do the best rack of ribs I’ve ever tasted. Was lucky enough to sample some off my girlfriend’s plate. I went for the 10oz fillet steak, well done, cooked to perfection. That along with mash potatoes, french fried onion rings and peppered sauce. Can’t beat it.

Our waiter was very good, providing us with free soft drink refills before we even had to ask, and brought out the birthday cake on cue.

Shared a brownie for dessert and well glad we did as it was absolutely massive with fresh cream and ice cream (see photo).

Overall a terrific meal. I recommend the ribs or steak and brownie for dessert. And make sure you make a reservation as it was packed out.

Good banter for a bit of bowling. Now that Odyssey Bowl is closed think it’s the closest to Belfast. Music is a bit loud in alleys, awkward to chat. Must be getting old :)

Popped in for a bite on friday night. Only had to wait 5 minutes for a table which was good. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great. Waited 15 minutes but no service, asked a waitress, 5min later still weren’t served. Eventually asked what looked like a manager to be served.

Quite pricey, don’t really think of TGIs as a ‘classy’ restaurant but still £15 for fajitas + £20 8oz fillet.

Eventually was able to order an Ultimate Jack Daniels Burger which was huge, fattening and very satisfying.

Top marks for burger but service is not up to standard and too expensive is my feeling.

Oregano

Not far from Belfast, we stopped here on our way to the airport. Oregano looks more like an olde manor than a restaurant so I was surprised at how modern and fancy the interior was.

Spacious layout inside with a small lounge/waiting area and bar.

Before 7.30pm is the pre-theatre menu, which we just missed although the manager was kind enough to let us order from it anyway. 2 courses for £16 (or 3 courses for £18).

I had soup and chicken, both delightful. The main restaurant menu (not pre-theatre) sports an Angus fillet steak which I’ll be back to try next time.
