Environment was nice, food was decent, very good price, friendly service, but it was very slow.
Had to wait 30 minutes for fish pie, which was longer than expected.
Free wifi is a plus, even though you do have to spend a couple minutes registering for it.
Nu Delhi Lounge, Belfast
Just opened where Jaxx used to be so tried it out for lunch with a group of friends.
Food was lovely and not a bad price £8 for a starter, main and side (lunch menu). Very filling and there was a good portion of chicken in the dish I ordered.
Doesn’t look terribly inviting from the outside, but once you get in and up the stairs it looks great.
Recommended if you like your Indian food.
Kaizen Print and Marketing, Belfast

Great service, arrived unannounced and they were happy to stop what they were doing and chat away with me.
We hired them to help with some flyer distribution and it didn’t cost very much to distribute around Belfast. All we had to do was give them the flyers and they sorted the rest. Saved us a lot of time and effort from having to do this ourselves.
Recommended for marketing and print work.
Restaurant 23, Warrenpoint

Had dinner here on Sunday and really enjoyed it. I had the caesar salad to start (which was nice and filling) and fish lasagne for main.
Service was good, venue was lovely (great view over Carlingford Lough) and food was nice.
It was £14 for 2 courses. Goes great with a Sunday drive to Warrenpoint.
Grounded Espresso Bars, Belfast
Spent a couple of hours in Grounded yesterday afternoon. Located upstairs in the Boucher food court, it has plenty of room, nice and spacious.
Staff were friendly and genuine, which other reviewers mentioned. I ordered at the counter and they served it to my table, and they helped me connect to the wifi.
Had a coffee and a beef sandwich for lunch which was delicious and inexpensive.
Will definitely be back. Free wifi is always nice to see, handy for meetings or if you’re looking to get a bit of work done.
The Belfast Coffee Company, Belfast

Was in recently for lunch and then sat on for a couple hours to do a bit of work on the laptop. They let me use their wifi, electric and even offered some filter coffee after my latte was done.
Lovely service. For that I thank you.
RBG Red Bar and Grill, Belfast
I like RBG for food but every so often I will have meetings in here and I wish they would sort out the wifi.
When I ask for access to wifi, the waitress will make me go out to the hotel reception to ask for a password. The receptionist will then ask me to provide a receipt of my purchase from the bar, then hand me a password. It’s a bit of a session and more complicated than it should be to get online.
Based on this experience, it’s not the best place for meetings if you need online access.
The Other Place, Belfast
Gave The Other Place a poor review the last time I was in but was there on Saturday night and the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We went for a takeaway. Fish and chips and lasagne. Both meals were very nice.
Am intrigued about the Tuesday offer they mentioned to us. Rumour is they toss a coin to see if you have to pay or not. Definitely going to check that out.

Love their gourmet burgers and always good to see them setup at the continental market. Pity I missed the Groupon deal, sounds like it was a success.
Ginger Bistro, Belfast

One of Belfast’s hidden gems, just down a side street off Great Victoria Street.
Great service, amazing food, intiment atmosphere. You are well looked after by staff. Feels fancy and up market but informal.
Recommend the pork belly.

Have been a couple of times since my last review. The food is great, but the trouble with this place is that it’s very slow service.
One day we waited around 45 minutes for our food. When it finally came they had forgot one of the orders. They also had ran out of Yorkshire puddings, which were meant to come with the sausages and potato. Rather than acknowledge the fact they had ran out they said nothing until we flagged it up.
Due to the hassle they gave us 20% off your next visit, which was nice of them.
Went back with our 20% off cards and again had to wait 30 minutes for our burgers and chips.
As I said, the food is great, but be prepared to spend at least an hour here for lunch.
JK's Pizza and Grill, Banbridge
Sunday past I visited JK’s, just beside the Iveagh cinema.
Before I went I checked the menu on their website and the prices were so good I was a bit nervous about what to expect. But the food turned out to be superb and excellent value.
JK’s has everything I love about a restaurant:
- Nice atmosphere
- Complimentary jug of water (without having to ask for it)
- Complimentary bread while you wait
- Open kitchen
- Service with a smile
- Value for money
The menu is excellent. Wide range of food at a very affordable price. £7 for cod, chips and peas. £5 for lasagna and chips. Our total meal, including a shared dessert, coffee and 2 drinks, came to £17.
Nice addition to Banbridge and somewhere to go before or after the cinema. The pizza looked good so I’ll be trying one of them next time.
Aldens, Belfast
Have been meaning to try Aldens for a while after spying these good reviews on Lookaly.
Lovely environment, quite fancy but not in a snobby way. Staff were very friendly and we were well taken care of.
There’s a starter/main menu (Mon-Thu) for £18 so went for soup and chicken. Lovely. Chicken was superb with some fancy sides. Complimentary bread included. Even the butter was perfect (none of this rock solid butter).
Love a place that doesn’t have to ask you during the meal if everything’s ok.
Quite busy, even on a Wednesday evening so would recommend booking in advance.

Went back and tried the 12oz burger with peppered sauce. Love it.
Remind me next time to only get a 6oz because they are well filling.
Eight South, Carryduff
Found ourselves in Carryduff Friday evening and spotted this place on the Lookaly app.
They have a early bird menu that runs until 7pm all week. Lasagna and chips for £8.95. One of the better meatier lasagnas too. Girlfriend had a fish pasta dish and we shared a pate starter, which was ideal for two.
All in all the bill was around £22. Great value. Nice restaurant and excellent service.
